Nepal Rastra Bank Orders Banks and Wallets to Support the Bill Lottery

Nepal Rastra Bank has directed commercial banks and digital wallet operators to actively support the Taxpayer Incentive Gift Program, rather than leaving customers to figure out their entries on their own.

In practice, this means banks and wallets are expected to make it easier for customers to see which of their digital payments generated a lottery entry, instead of that information staying buried in raw transaction logs.

A few institutions have already responded by adding a dedicated section inside their mobile apps for this purpose, and more are expected to follow as the directive takes effect across the industry.
