Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information IRDCoupon collects when you use the app, why we collect it, how it's stored, and the choices and rights you have over it.
IRDCoupon is an independent project run by a small team, not a large company. We collect only what we need to run the app's features. You need a personal PAN to be eligible to redeem a prize with IRD — we never collect or store yours.
Information we collect
We collect the following information directly from you as you use IRDCoupon:
- Phone number
- Used to send a one-time password (OTP) and sign you in. This is the core identifier for your account.
- Email and name (optional)
- If you choose to add them, used to personalize the app and to reach you about your account if needed.
- Bill data and photos
- Photos of your purchase bills, and the fields extracted from them by OCR — invoice number, seller PAN, bill date, and amount. Seller PAN on a bill is merchant data used for invoice matching, not your personal PAN.
- Notification preferences
- Your choices about which alerts you want to receive, such as draw reminders and match alerts.
Personal PAN — not collected
You need a personal PAN to be eligible to redeem a prize with IRD. IRDCoupon never asks for, collects, or stores your personal PAN (or anyone else's). We only remind you of that eligibility requirement.
How we use this information
We use the information above only to run IRDCoupon's features:
- Signing you in
- Your phone number is used to deliver and verify OTP codes so you can securely access your account.
- Your Bill Vault
- Bill photos and extracted fields are stored so you can find, review, and correct them later, and so you can copy them when registering on the official IRD portal.
- Match alerts
- Invoice fields from your bills — including seller PAN where present — are compared against IRD's published winner lists so we can flag possible matches and notify you according to your preferences.
How your bill photos and OCR data are stored
Bill photos are stored in secure cloud object storage, and the fields OCR extracts from them are stored in our application database. We have not finalized every infrastructure vendor at this early stage, but our commitment is to use providers with encryption in transit and at rest, and to restrict access to your data to what's needed to operate the service.
We keep your data only for as long as your account is active, or as long as needed to provide the app's features, unless you ask us to delete it sooner (see "Your rights" below).
Phone number and bill data are sensitive — we don't sell or share them
Your phone number and bill photos are sensitive personal information. We do not sell them, and we do not share them with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We never collect your personal PAN.
We share information only in narrow cases needed to operate IRDCoupon — for example, with an SMS provider so it can deliver your OTP code — or when required by law or a valid legal process. Any such provider is only given the minimum information it needs to do its job.
Cookies and language preference
IRDCoupon uses a small cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) to remember whether you prefer the Nepali or English version of the site when you switch languages. This cookie doesn't identify you personally and isn't used for advertising or tracking.
The app may also use essential cookies or local storage needed to keep you signed in and to make the site work correctly.
Your rights: export and deletion
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you (a data export), and you can ask us to delete your account and associated data.
At this stage, these requests are handled by our team directly rather than through in-app buttons — an in-app export and delete flow is planned. To make a request, contact us at the email address below, and we'll act on verified requests as soon as we reasonably can. Note that some information may need to be retained where required by law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as IRDCoupon's features or our data practices change. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do, and significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
