- Windfall tax
- A 25% tax on lottery-style prize winnings under Section 88A of the Income Tax Act, 2058. Deducted before payout, so net is lower than the announced gross.
- CBMS
- Centralized Billing Monitoring System — IRD's live link to many large stores' billing. Purchases there can enter automatically without manual registration.
- Personal PAN
- Your individual Permanent Account Number. Required to redeem a prize with IRD. IRDCoupon does not collect or store your personal PAN.
- Fortnight (draw window)
- The 1–15 or 16–end-of-month BS period whose registered bills feed the next scheduled draw on the 16th or 1st.
- Bumper prize
- The larger fortnightly prize awarded alongside daily prizes on draw days (1st and 16th BS), subject to windfall tax.
- Draw date (BS)
- The Bikram Sambat calendar date of an official draw — typically the 1st or 16th of each Nepali month.
- IRO
- Inland Revenue Office — where a verified winner claims in person with the original bill within the claim deadline.
- Match (in IRDCoupon)
- An informal signal that your tracked bill looks similar to a published result. It is not an official win — only prize.ird.gov.np confirms winners.
