PAN/VAT Number Format Checker
A Nepal PAN or VAT number is always a 9-digit number. Paste yours in to catch typos before you submit it anywhere.

Draws happen on the 1st and 16th of every Nepali month.
Register your eligible bills before this fortnight closes.
This only checks that the number is 9 digits — it does not look up or confirm registration with IRD's own records.
What a PAN/VAT number is
A Permanent Account Number (PAN) is the unique 9-digit ID IRD issues to every registered taxpayer in Nepal. A VAT number is the same 9-digit PAN, used on invoices once that taxpayer has also registered for VAT. There's no publicly documented check-digit formula behind the number — this tool only verifies length and digit format, which catches the most common typos.
For an authoritative check of whether a PAN is actually registered and active, use IRD's own Taxpayer Portal — this tool cannot confirm that.
