VAT refund vs lottery
People often mix up "getting VAT back" with "entering the prize draw". They are different ideas with different rules. This guide keeps them separate.

VAT refund (in general)
A VAT refund is about reclaiming tax in specific legal situations (for example certain business or export contexts). It is not a random prize and is not what IRDCoupon tracks.
Taxpayer Incentive Gift Program
The lottery turns eligible personal purchases into draw entries. Winning is chance-based under IRD's operating procedure — not a guaranteed refund of the VAT you paid on that bill.
Side-by-side
Refund = tax administration outcome in defined cases. Lottery = prize draw for eligible personal invoices. Keeping a valid bill helps the lottery; it does not automatically create a VAT refund claim.
Note
IRDCoupon is an unofficial companion for bill tracking and notices. For official refund or prize rules, rely on IRD publications and prize.ird.gov.np.
